Steve Hed, inventor of the deep section aero wheel, introduces value to performance with the new HED Jet 7 Express. The new HED Jet 7 Express is $1650 for the pair, an impressive value from the company that invented the aero wheel.
The HED Jet Express 7 uses a proprietary 75 mm deep HED SCT (Stability Control Technology) rim profile to improve performance and stability in gusty crosswinds and lower drag while increasing performance. The new 23 mm wide alloy clincher rim optimizes tire performance by lowering rolling resistance, improving comfort and providing more secure cornering.
HED achieved high-end performance in an efficiently priced package by using an all-alloy hubset, standard quick release skewers and black bladed aerodynamic spokes. This efficient use of materials still nets low overall wheel weight with a pair of HED Jet 7 Express wheels weighing only 1985 grams, that is only 325 grams heavier than HED's high end, pro level HED Jet 6 FR. The front wheel is 940 grams; rear wheel is 1045 grams.
